Crumbling Foundations in Massachusetts

There are an estimated two-thousand Massachusetts homes that have tested positive for pyrrhotite. Most are in western and central Massachusetts with this number expected to rise as more homeowners come forward.

It was originally thought that the tainted concrete came from a single quarry in Connecticut. But, it is confirmed that some homes with crumbling foundations in central Massachusetts did not get their concrete from the Connecticut quarry.
